Just wanted to post about a few items....
Liberty Bears in the Press....
As you all are out and about this week, pick up a copy of the Philly edition of HX magazine (red swimsuited hunk on the cover). On page 6 you will find a photo of the Bears on Liberty Weekend Committee giving our $2500 donation check to Brian Green, the Executive Director of Project Safeguards. There is a nice write up of the Beef and Beer event we held at the Bike stop a few weeks ago where we gave away the donation.
July Exec Board Meeting & Bears: The Movie...
Next e-board meeting will be held informally at the Bike Stop this Wednesday night, July 18th. Time will be 6:30pm. Any Full Member of the club is invited to join the e-board for the meeting. It will be a shorty for sure! Afterwards we can hang out and then go down to Bears: The Movie at The Arts Bank. Don’t forget the bear gathering after the movie back at the Bike Stop.
First Meeting and Social of 2007-2008 Club Year...
Please mark your calendars, PDAs and iPhones now for the first meeting and social of the next club year. They will be held on Sunday, September 2nd, 2007. Meeting at 5pm and social starting at 6pm running until 10pm. It’s the night before Labor Day so it is not a school night and you have no reason not to come out and party at the end of summer.
October meeting and social will be held Sunday, October 7th....the evening of OutFest!
Please also keep in mind – and spread the word – that our meetings and socials will be switching to Saturdays beginning in November. The November meeting and social will be held on Saturday, November 3rd.
Bears on Liberty Weekend 2008....”Bears on Stampede”
In case you haven’t heard, Bears on Liberty Weekend 2008 will be held in conjunction with the Liberty Gay Rodeo Association’s <http://www.libertyg ra.org/> production of the 1st ever gay rodeo in Philadelphia, The Liberty Stampede. Bears on Liberty Weekend 6 will be held the 2nd weekend in May, 2008, Thursday the 8th through Sunday the 11th. Your BOLW registration will include all the rodeo events as well as the events scheduled separately for BOLW attendees. Due to our affiliation with the rodeo we are proud to offer a host hotel for BOLW 6, The Loews PSFS at 12th and Market. They are currently taking reservations for the weekend at an AMAZING rate of $124/night with up to 4 to a room. BOLW and the Rodeo have the entire hotel. I suggest you get your reservations in NOW. Call the hotel at (215) 627-1200 and mention “Liberty Stampede” in order to get your room booked for the weekend.
