The Liberty Bears of Philadelphia is a not-for-profit organization that has been established to promote acceptance and camaraderie of Bears, Cubs, Ursala’s and their admirers by providing the opportunity to gather and socialize in safe and hospitable surroundings and engage in appropriate activities and events that increase awareness of our lifestyles, potential, and contributions to the Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) community.
The Liberty Bears, encourages an atmosphere of tolerance and diversity, and will not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, ethnic background, religion, sexual orientation, or lifestyle.
The Liberty Bears recognizes its responsibility to contribute to the GLBT community and does so by providing assistance to community projects, charities, and organizations through volunteer efforts and support, as well as financial gifts and donations.

The Liberty Bears of Philadelphia is a not-for-profit fraternal organization that was formed to promote camaraderie of Bears and their admirers by engaging in and promoting appropriate activities and events. The Liberty Bears, in seeking to encourage an atmosphere of tolerance and diversity, will not discriminate in policy or official activities on the basis of race, sex, ethnic background, religion or sexual orientation. The Liberty Bears, while primarily a social organization, recognizes its responsibility as part of the Gay and Lesbian community to contribute to that community. Fundraising and volunteer efforts for the Gay and Lesbian community, including AIDS causes are an ongoing goal. Over the years, the Liberty Bears have donated thousands of dollars back to various agencies within Philadelphia's LGBT community.
