Bill Hawk is quite a presence in Philadelphia's LGBT community. He's served as Vice-President and President of the Liberty Bears and is presently Mr. Philadelphia Leather 2005-06. Bill's a charter member of our Club, an associate member of the Philadelphian M.C., and a member of the Leather Archives and Museum. He's been active in the leather community since he and his partner of 14 years, Dan (our club Road Captain), returned from a four year stint in Washington State. As President of the Liberty Bears, April 2003 to April 2005, Bill oversaw the finalization of the Club's Not-for-Profit status and the inception and first two years of the Club's wildly successful Bears on Liberty Weekend bear run.
As Mr. Philadelphia Leather, Bill has hosted the monthly Hot Ash Cigar Nights at The Bike Stop. He has been an educator for Philadelphia Submissive Snack and Learn on the subject of cigar ritual and play and helped in coordinating the first Hot Ash night held at The Double L Bar in Rehoboth Beach, DE. He has attended numerous leather events around the country including being a contestant at IML27. Along with his “sash wife”, dawn marie, Ms. Philadelphia Leather 2005-06, he was a major sponsor of and volunteer at the 5th Ms. World Contest in Las Vegas, NV held this past August. Bill was a judge for the MBNY MetroBear & MetroCub Contest held in New York City and the NJ Leather Contest held in Asbury Park, both held in October of 2005. He is a member of Mama’s Family (Boogie Bear) and the Family Hope Alliance.

As well as being a cigar afficinado, Bill is into tattooing, piercings, wearing his kilts and a bit of bondage. He looks forward to the remainder of his, now extended, title year and his step-aside in November of 2006.
